Wisdom Unit 2

Earl F. Wisdom Generating Station Unit 2 is an 80 megawatt natural gas/oil-fired combustion turbine located near Spencer, Iowa. The unit is a partnership between Spencer Municipal Utilities, Corn Belt Power Cooperative, and Basin Electric Power Cooperative. Corn Belt Power is responsible for operating and maintaining the unit. NIMECA member Spencer Municipal Utilities owns a 5 megawatt share of the unit. Spencer commits its share to the NIMECA capacity sharing pool. The unit runs during times of peak demand.
